Neighbors in Lynchburg are opening their hearts and wallets to find the person who killed two local teens.
Sterling Oil Company is giving $1,000 to the families of David Metzler and Heidi Childs.
The money will be added to a reward offered by Virginia State Police, as they search for the person who killed the two Virginia Tech Students.
"I can' t imagine what this family is going through, so I wanted to do something special to let them know that people are behind them and thinking of them," said Sterling Oil Company Vice President Donna Beeler Hensley.
More than $2,000 has been collected by London Hair Company, where Heidi's sister, Emily, works.
They hope to get even more at a Cut-A-Thon and Bake Sale this weekend.  It's at the salon from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
